Find answers to common questions about 3D Printing and designing your perfect item to help celebrate your special occasion.
Additive manufacturing (AM) is a process of creating three-dimensional objects by joining materials, usually layer-by-layer, based on a digital 3D model. While often used interchangeably with 3D printing, AM is typically the industrial term for the technology.
3D printing can be used to produce all types of products like aeroplane parts, medical implants, artificial organs, novelty items, toys, sculptures, 3D figurines and much more.
At 3DPrintBitz, we specialise in bringing designing and 3D printing items to help celebrate your special occasion.
The process of 3D printing involves three steps:
3D modeling software: The object is designed with intricate details in the 3D model using CAD software. The software has the ability to allow for the tiniest, and precision designs. The CAD file is then converted into STL format.
Slicing the model: Next, the model is sliced into hundreds or thousands of layers with a slicing software and sent off to the 3D printer via USB, WiFi or SD.
Final process: In a 3D printer, a nozzle moves back and forth while dispensing the material layer-by-layer waiting for a layer to dry before adding the next.
3D printers are extremely flexible, accurate and fast to print rigid materials, and even strong industrial products.
PLA (Polylactic Acid): The most popular and beginner-friendly material. Derived from renewable resources like corn starch, it is easy to print, biodegradable, and available in many colours. It is ideal for models, figurines, and non-functional prototypes.
PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol): Offers a balance between the ease of PLA and the strength of ABS. It is water-resistant, durable, and handles higher temperatures better than PLA, making it suitable for functional prototypes and waterproof enclosures.
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene): A tough engineering plastic used for functional parts like LEGO bricks. It has high heat resistance but is prone to warping and requires an enclosed printer and good ventilation due to fumes.
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane): A flexible, rubber-like material ideal for parts that need to stretch or absorb impact, such as gaskets, phone cases, and shock absorbers.
ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate): Similar to ABS but with superior UV resistance, making it the best choice for outdoor applications.
At 3DPrintBitz we primarily use PLA Basic (standard), PLA Tough (high-speed), PLA Matte, PLA Silk, PETG, PETG Translucent, ABS and TPU.
PLA: Low - Used for display models, basic prototypes, indoor use.
PETG: Moderate - Used for functional parts, outdoor use.
ABS: High - Used for engineering parts, tool handles.
TPU: Moderate - Used for gaskets, tires, flexible cases.
🧼 Care Instructions
Hand Wash Only: Clean with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not place in a dishwasher, as the high heat will cause permanent deformation.
Indoor Use Recommended: Best suited for indoor environments away from extreme outdoor weather conditions.
⚠️ Safety Warnings
Choking Hazard: This product contains small parts or may break into small pieces if dropped or misused. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
Not for Food Use: Unless explicitly stated, this item is for decorative or organizational use only. The layered texture of 3D prints can harbour bacteria and is not considered food-safe.
Heat Sensitivity: Do not expose to direct sunlight for extended periods or temperatures exceeding 50∘C. DO NOT USE WITH REAL FLAME CANDLES. Doing so may cause the product to warp, soften, or lose its shape.
Fragility: 3D-printed parts are durable but may break under high stress or impact. Handle with care.

2. Client-Provided Files: Where the Client provides a digital file (e.g., STL, OBJ) for printing, the Client warrants they hold all necessary Intellectual Property (IP) rights or commercial licences for that design. 3DPrintBitz accepts no liability for IP infringement arising from designs provided by the Client.
3. Design Limitations: 3D printing is an additive process with inherent material limitations. 3DPrintBitz is not liable for failures resulting from the Client’s choice of material or modifications made to the design after delivery.
4. Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a custom design or printed product is limited to the replacement of the item or a refund of the purchase price.
